Meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Cabinet approved several key decisions aimed at improving infrastructure and promoting employment in the state. Notable initiatives included expanding women’s reservation in civil services, establishing new fertilizer sales centers, and planning for an ultra-supercritical power unit.

35% Reservation for Women in Civil Services:

The Cabinet approved the notification issued on October 3, 2023, under the compliance of the Madhya Pradesh Civil Service (Special Provisions for Women) Rules, 1997, to increase the reservation for women in civil services to 35%.

Approval for 254 New Fertilizer Sales Centers:

For the 2024-25 Kharif and Rabi seasons, the Cabinet sanctioned the establishment of 254 new fertilizer sales centers. The state government will bear the actual operational expenses for these centers, with a reimbursement cap of up to ₹1.72 crore.

Establishment of a New 660 MW Ultra-Supercritical Power Unit: The Cabinet also approved the decommissioning of units at the Satpura Thermal Power Station, Sarni, under Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited. Due to their advanced age and unsatisfactory performance, units from Plant No. 2 and 3 will be retired. In their place, a feasibility study will be conducted for setting up a new 660 MW ultra-supercritical power unit.

Increased Age Limit for Medical Faculty Recruitment: Addressing the shortage of medical faculty in new government medical colleges, the Cabinet extended the maximum age limit for Assistant Professor posts from 40 to 50 years.

Other Decisions: The Cabinet approved the “Strengthening of Cooperatives through IT Interventions” project, initiated by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India. This project aims to computerize the Registrar Cooperative Societies offices across the state, with a budget of ₹3.68 crore, of which 60% will be funded by the central government and 40% by the state.

The Cabinet, under Dr. Yadav's leadership, also approved customized incentives for 10 mega industrial projects, which are expected to attract a capital investment of approximately ₹2,100 crore. These projects are anticipated to generate direct employment for about 6,200 individuals. The state government will provide various incentives, such as subsidized electricity, capital subsidies, employment generation grants, and training grants for these projects.
