The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that agricultural fairs focused on advanced farming techniques will be organized across various districts within the next eight days. The primary objective of these fairs is to boost farmers' incomes. The fairs will showcase modern technology, high-quality seeds, state-of-the-art equipment, the latest agricultural and horticultural management practices, and information about various government schemes.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav urged farmers to take full advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Kusum (C) Yojana for operating solar pumps. He conveyed this message to farmers through the media.
Dr. Yadav emphasized that farming today is impossible without electricity. Therefore, the state government is working towards making farmers self-reliant in the energy sector. Under the Kusum (C) scheme, farmers are being encouraged to produce their own electricity. Significant assistance is being provided to farmers through electricity subsidies, which serve as a major support system for improving their livelihoods.
The Chief Minister further stated that assistance is being provided to farmers for installing solar pumps to operate agricultural equipment using solar energy. Farmers can book a solar pump by paying just 10% of the total cost. Registration has begun for solar pumps with up to three horsepower capacity. For pumps worth up to ₹5 lakh, farmers will need to pay only ₹50,000, while the government will guarantee the remaining ₹4.5 lakh.
One Lakh Farmers to Receive Solar Pumps: Dr. Mohan Yadav added that the state government plans to register around one lakh farmers under this scheme. Priority will be given to farmers who had registered earlier, and after fulfilling their requirements, pumps will be distributed to newly registered farmers. He affirmed that through this initiative, farmers will achieve energy self-sufficiency, opening new avenues for their economic advancement. The state government remains fully committed to the prosperity of farmers.
