Farmers should opt for organic fertilizers over chemical ones. This practice helps maintain soil fertility and ensures pollution-free grains for consumers. Often, farmers view banana plant residues as waste and leave them in the field, which harms the environment and reduces soil fertility. To avoid this, farmers can produce organic fertilizer from banana peels and earn a good profit.
To make organic fertilizer from banana peels, start by cutting the peels into small pieces. Boil these pieces in water for 15 to 20 minutes. After boiling, remove the peels from the water and place them in a container for a month. After about a month, the banana peels will have turned into organic fertilizer. The leftover water can be used with any other fertilizer.
Important Points to Consider: Banana peels are high in carbohydrates, which increases the risk of fungal growth. Avoid using banana peel fertilizer during the rainy season and in cold weather. Some people put banana peels directly into pots, but this takes a long time for the peels to decompose in the soil. Instead, add small pieces of banana peels to the potting soil as natural fertilizer, but avoid doing this if there is no sunlight.
