On February 1, 2025, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for 2025-26. The rural development budget has not been increased this year. The Finance Minister has allocated ₹2.66 lakh crore for rural development in the financial year 2025-26, which is the same amount as last year. This fund will be used for improving rural roads, housing, employment, and infrastructure.
