Chaitra Navratri 2025: Perform Kalash Sthapana at This Auspicious Time, Know the Rituals

The sacred festival of Chaitra Navratri 2025 will commence on March 30. This nine-day festival is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her nine divine forms. The first day of Navratri is dedicated to Maa Shailputri, and it is believed that performing the rituals with devotion on this day brings peace, prosperity, and happiness.

Kalash Sthapana Muhurat:

According to the Hindu Panchang, the Chaitra Shukla Pratipada Tithi will begin at 4:27 PM on March 29, 2025, and will end at 12:49 PM on March 30, 2025. As per the tradition of observing festivals based on the sunrise, Chaitra Navratri will start on March 30, 2025.

Auspicious Timings for Kalash Sthapana:

1. Morning Muhurat: 06:13 AM – 10:22 AM
2. Abhijit Muhurat: 12:01 PM – 12:50 PM

Chaitra Navratri 2025: Worship Rituals:

1. Take a bath, wear clean clothes, and purify the puja area.
2. Spread a red cloth on the altar and sow barley seeds in a clay pot.
3. Fill a Kalash with holy water (Ganga Jal), betel nut, Durva grass, rice grains (Akshat), and coins.
4. Place mango leaves on the mouth of the Kalash and place a coconut on top.
5. Invoke Goddess Durga and perform puja for nine days with devotion.
6. Devotees can observe fasting and perform morning and evening Aarti.
7. On the eighth (Ashtami) or ninth (Navami) day, conduct Kanya Pujan and offer food to young girls.
8. Maintain cleanliness in the house and avoid conflicts during this period.

Light a Ghee Lamp: According to Vastu Shastra, lighting a ghee lamp during Aarti brings positive energy. During Navratri, place the lamp on your right-hand side. This is believed to attract the blessings of Maa Durga and remove Vastu dosha (architectural defects) from the house.

Keep an Akhand Jyoti (Eternal Flame): Lighting an Akhand Jyoti (uninterrupted flame) during Navratri is considered highly auspicious. According to Vastu principles, placing this lamp in the southeast direction eliminates negative energies and brings prosperity and success.
