What is the Cluster Horticulture Scheme: The Cluster Horticulture Scheme encourages farmers to cultivate horticultural crops on their agricultural land. Under this scheme, selected crops receive grants and technical support to help farmers increase their crop productivity.

Selected Crops: The following crops have been selected under this scheme.

  • Guava
  • Amla (Indian Gooseberry)
  • Lemon
  • Bael (Wood Apple)
  • Lemongrass
  • Papaya
  • Marigold
  • Dragon Fruit
  • Strawberry

The main objective of selecting these crops is to motivate farmers to grow high-value crops.

Benefits of the Scheme: The scheme provides benefits for a minimum of 0.25 acres (0.1 hectares) and a maximum of 10 acres (4 hectares) of land. This aims to assist small and medium-sized farmers.

Grant Amount: Under this scheme, the following grant amounts are provided for selected crops.

  • For Guava, Amla, Lemon, Bael, Lemongrass, Papaya, and Marigold: Up to Rs 1 lakh per acre.
  • For Dragon Fruit and Strawberry: Up to Rs 2 lakh per acre.

Disbursement of Subsidy: The subsidy amount will be disbursed in two installments (65:35 ratio). The first installment will be 65% of the total amount, and the second installment will be 35%.

Benefits for Non-Landholders: The scheme also extends benefits for expanding the cultivation area of Marigold, Strawberry, and Papaya to non-landholders, provided they present a lease agreement. This aims to reach a broader base of farmers.

Selection of Beneficiaries: Beneficiaries will be selected in a 78.56:20.00:1.44 ratio, ensuring that at least 30% of the beneficiaries are women farmers.

Simple Application Process: To apply for the Cluster Horticulture Scheme initiated by the Bihar Government, follow these steps.

  • Visit the official Bihar government website [horticulture.bihar.gov.in].
  • Click on the 'Schemes' option.
  • From the list of schemes run by the Agriculture Department, select the "Cluster Horticulture Scheme."
  • A new page will open; click on "Apply for Cluster Horticulture Scheme under State Plan Fund."
  • Enter your DBT registration number on the new page that opens.
  • Accurately complete the application form with all the required details.
  • Once the application form is filled out, upload the necessary documents.
  • After reviewing the application form and documents, click the submit button.
