Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that solar energy is an important and clean source of energy. He emphasized that solar energy is the best form of energy and promoting it is a priority for the government. By 2030, Madhya Pradesh will generate half of its electricity from solar energy. The state is making rapid progress in the field of solar energy production, and the government aims to provide affordable electricity for industries, businesses, and agriculture.
On Friday, the Madhya Pradesh government inaugurated the 880 MW Agar and Neemuch solar projects, which were developed at a cost of ₹3520 crore in Agar-Malwa district. These projects include a 550 MW solar project in Agar-Malwa district worth ₹2200 crore and a 330 MW solar project in Neemuch district worth ₹1320 crore. Additionally, Dr. Yadav also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development works worth ₹49.81 crore in Agar-Malwa districts.
The state government is continuously working to economically empower farmers. As part of this effort, one lakh solar pumps will be distributed to farmers, enabling them to produce the electricity they need for irrigation. The government also aims to increase the irrigated area from 5 million hectares to 10 million hectares. Madhya Pradesh is poised to become the leading state in crop production, surpassing Haryana and Punjab.
The MP government is also encouraging livestock farming alongside agriculture to increase farmers' income. A plan is in place to offer a bonus on milk procurement. Currently, Madhya Pradesh supplies 9% of the country's milk, and the target is to increase this share to 20% over the next five years.
Welfare Schemes for Women and the Poor: Dr. Yadav reiterated the government's commitment to the development of youth, women, the poor, and farmers. Under the Laadli Behna Yojana, women are being made self-reliant. The Chief Minister Jan Kalyan Abhiyan will continue until January 26, during which government officials will visit households to provide the benefits of various government schemes.
Special Announcements for Solar Energy and Development Projects: Dr. Yadav also provided checks worth ₹2.5 crore each to the collectors of Agar and Neemuch districts for solar energy development. He distributed benefits to the beneficiaries of various schemes. Through solar energy and other development projects, the state is accelerating overall progress, improving the lives of farmers and citizens alike.
