According to the Meteorological Department, a cold wave alert has been issued for Delhi until December 13. The minimum temperature is expected to drop to 3-4°C during this period, with a slight rise anticipated afterward. As winter intensifies in the capital, the temperature has significantly dropped, reaching 4.8°C on December 12, lower than the previous day's 4.9°C.
Temperature Forecast:
- Northwest and Central India: No significant change in minimum temperatures is expected over the next 4-5 days.
- East India: A gradual decrease of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures over the next two days, followed by no significant changes.
- West India: A rise of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures over the next 2-3 days.
Cold Wave Warning (December 12-16):
- Rajasthan: Isolated places likely to experience cold wave conditions from December 12-16.
- Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh: Cold wave conditions are expected during the same period.
- Saurashtra and Kutch: Cold wave conditions on December 12.
- Delhi: Cold wave likely on December 12 and 13.
- Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad: Cold wave conditions expected from December 13-16.
Cold Day Warning:
- Rajasthan: Likely on December 12.
- Madhya Pradesh: Likely on December 12 and 13.
- Possibility of Dense Fog and Frost in Northeast and North India
- Eastern Uttar Pradesh: Until December 12.
- Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar weather: Until December 13.
- Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura: Until December 14.
- Additionally, ground frost conditions are expected in isolated areas of Uttarakhand on December 12.

- December 12: The sky will remain mostly clear with isolated cold wave conditions. Surface winds from the northwest are expected at speeds of around 8 kmph in the morning, increasing to 16 kmph in the afternoon, and then reducing to less than 8 kmph by evening and night. Mist/fog is likely during morning and evening hours.
- December 13: A mainly clear sky is expected. Morning surface winds will blow from the northwest at around 8 kmph, increasing to 10-12 kmph in the afternoon and decreasing to less than 8 kmph in the evening and night. Mist/fog is expected during morning and night hours.
- December 14: The sky will remain clear. Surface winds from the northwest will blow at around 8 kmph in the morning, increasing to 10-12 kmph in the afternoon, and decreasing to less than 8 kmph in the evening and night. Mist/fog is likely during morning and night hours.
