The agriculture department has established teams at the village, block, and district levels to prevent incidents of crop residue burning. Satellite monitoring via HARSEC is being employed to monitor fires in crop residues. Upon identifying those responsible for igniting crop residue fires, their GPS location will be relayed to farmers, and strict legal action will be taken.

Appeal to Farmers:

Officials from the agriculture department are urging farmers not to burn crop residues.

Formation of Teams and Control Room: Under the leadership of Deputy Director Dr. Vinod Fogat, teams have been formed. A control room has been established at the deputy director's office under the guidance of subject specialist Sumit Bharadwaj. Despite explanations, if any farmer burns crop residue, appropriate action and penalties will be enforced.

Crop Residue Management: According to Assistant Agricultural Engineer Nasib Singh Dhankhar, 90% of wheat harvesting is done manually or with a reaper binder, which does not pose a challenge in crop residue management. Wheat residues accumulate in areas harvested by combine harvesters. Farmers can manage these residues using straw reapers, rotavators, or disc harrows.
Indeed, crop residue burning is illegal and detrimental to the environment. Kheti Vyapar also encourages farmers to manage crop residues using alternative methods. The agriculture department is dedicated to raising awareness among farmers and providing assistance.
