Severe Cyclonic Storm "MICHAUNG" made a forceful entrance onto the south Andhra Pradesh coast, crossing near Bapatla with sustained winds reaching 90-100 kmph and gusts up to 110 kmph between 12:30 - 14:30 hrs IST on December 5, 2023. Since then, it has undergone a rapid transformation, weakening into a Deep Depression over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and further degrading into a Depression over northeast Telangana & adjoining south Chhattisgarh-south interior Odisha coast by 05:30 hrs IST on December 6, 2023. The system has now diminished to a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northeast Telangana and adjoining regions.

On December 6, expect light to moderate rainfall in many places with isolated heavy rainfall over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. Looking ahead to December 8-9, Kerala, Mahe, and Tamil Nadu may experience light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls. Additionally, on December 7, dense fog during morning hours is likely in isolated pockets over Punjab and Haryana, including Chandigarh.
