As November begins, winter has started to set in across Delhi and NCR, with a noticeable dip in temperatures over the past 24 hours. Daytime temperatures ranged between 32°C and 34°C, while nighttime lows hovered between 13°C and 18°C. Despite the slight drop, maximum temperatures remained 2-3°C above average, and minimum temperatures were 1-3°C higher than normal. The skies were mostly clear during the day, with surface winds blowing at speeds of 4-8 kmph from various directions. Calm nighttime winds contributed to the persistence of smog over the region.
Today, Delhi is expected to have predominantly clear skies. Morning winds are likely to remain light, reaching up to 5 kmph from variable directions. Smog, shallow fog, or mist may reduce visibility in the early hours. By afternoon, wind speeds are expected to pick up slightly, reaching around 8 kmph, then decreasing to below 5 kmph by evening and night. Smog and mist are expected to persist into the night.
Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) level hit record levels again yesterday, with an average AQI of 382, categorized as "severe." This places Delhi as the most polluted city in the country. In nearby regions, Bahadurgarh in Haryana reported an AQI of 335, making it the second most polluted location, while Sriganganagar in Rajasthan recorded an AQI of 327.
Weather Forecast for Other Regions: According to the Meteorological Department, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are expected in some areas of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and South Interior Karnataka today. Yesterday, several regions in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry also experienced heavy rainfall. Moderate to dense fog is likely to impact visibility in parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
