The weather in North India continues to witness fluctuations. Rain and dense fog are expected in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, while Punjab is likely to experience reduced visibility due to heavy fog. Here’s a detailed weather update for today.
The skies in Delhi are expected to remain cloudy today. According to weather forecasts, light rain is likely in Delhi and nearby areas today and tomorrow. Dense fog and mist may lead to reduced visibility. Additionally, Delhi’s minimum temperature for the next three days is expected to hover around 10°C, while the maximum temperature may reach up to 23°C.
With rising temperatures, the intensity of winter in Uttar Pradesh has gradually decreased. Over the past few days, the region has experienced relatively warmer days with bright sunshine. However, as per the meteorological department, the weather in Uttar Pradesh may change suddenly from Monday. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in western Uttar Pradesh between February 3 and 5, leading to a drop in temperature. Additionally, fog will continue to persist, with shallow to moderate fog likely during late nights and early mornings.
Following extreme cold conditions, Madhya Pradesh is now witnessing a shift in its weather pattern. In most districts, temperatures have risen to around 15°C. While the nights remain cold, the days are becoming warmer due to bright sunshine. According to the weather department, temperatures may drop by 2 to 3°C over the next three days, with colder nights expected. Furthermore, dense fog is likely to persist in Ujjain, Gwalior, and Chambal divisions.
IMD Issues Alert for North India: Punjab’s Amritsar and Patiala are experiencing zero visibility due to dense fog, while visibility in Delhi’s Safdarjung and Palam has dropped to 50 meters. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had already predicted dense to very dense fog conditions in northern states. Additionally, rain is expected in the plains of northwest India and the western Himalayan region on February 3 and 4, with the wet spell continuing until February 5.
