The minimum temperature in several parts of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh dropped below 0°C, while it was recorded at 2-5°C in Himachal Pradesh, 6-12°C in Northwest and Central India, and 12-16°C in East and West India. The lowest temperature in the plains was 5.0°C, recorded at Bulandshahr (West Uttar Pradesh).
Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature fell by 1-3°C in parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Vidarbha. Similarly, some areas in Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Kerala, and Mahe also experienced a decline.
Dense fog is expected during the night and early morning hours in Bihar, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam-Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on January 19. East Rajasthan from January 19-21 and Madhya Pradesh till January 20.
Cold Day Warnings: Cold day conditions are expected in parts of Madhya Pradesh on January 19 and Himachal Pradesh on January 22.
Rain and Storm Updates: Heavy rainfall is likely in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, and Mahe.
Thunderstorms with gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are expected in Kerala and Mahe, while lightning is likely in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
