The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samriddhi Sah-Yojana (PMMKSSY) is a centrally sponsored sub-scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). This scheme, implemented with a budget of ₹6,000 crore for the financial year 2023-24, aims to modernize the fisheries sector, improve access to institutional finance, promote aquaculture insurance, enhance value chain efficiency, and strengthen quality and safety standards of fishery products.
As part of this initiative, the National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP) has been developed to register fishermen, fish farmers, vendors, processing units, and micro-enterprises, integrating them into the formal financial system and government schemes. Through this platform, stakeholders can access benefits such as credit facilities, aquaculture insurance, and performance-based grants.
The Department of Fisheries, under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, is conducting a special nationwide registration drive on the National Fisheries Digital Platform (NFDP) from February 14 to 22, 2025. This campaign aims to:
Accelerate the registration process
Increase approval rates
Special Registration Camps for Fisheries Sector:
This drive is being organized in collaboration with State/UT Fisheries Departments, the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), and Common Service Centers (CSC). Special registration camps will be set up in key fishing zones and potential fisheries areas across the country, where fishermen, fish farmers, vendors, processing units, and micro-entrepreneurs can register on the NFDP and avail themselves of government benefits.
