Maharashtra's Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde will chair a meeting here today, which is Friday, to review the situation resembling drought in Marathwada. An official provided this information. They said that the meeting would be held at the Minister's secretariat office, where the situation in Aurangabad and Latur divisions will be discussed. The official mentioned that after the meeting, the minister will visit his assembly constituency, Parli (in Beed district).
It should be noted that the private weather forecasting agency Skymet had also predicted that while the monsoon might be delayed in Mumbai, it would bring good rainfall once it arrived. However, the situation might not be the same in Marathwada and Vidarbha, where the problem of drought could resurface. Since Skymet's forecast, concerns among farmers in Marathwada and Vidarbha had increased once again. Skymet attributed this change in weather to the La Niña effect.
