Protecting moong crops from diseases is crucial for achieving better yields. According to agricultural experts, various diseases such as Moong Bean Yellow Mosaic, Anthracnose, Bacterial Leaf Blight, Cercospora Leaf Spot, Leaf Blight, Root Rot, and others are commonly found in moong cultivation. To control these diseases, the use of appropriate fungicides and pesticides is essential.
This disease is transmitted by whiteflies. The affected leaves develop light to dark yellow spots, and the number of flowers and pods decreases.
Control Measures:
Seed Treatment: Thiamethoxam 30 FS @ 10 ml or Imidacloprid 48 FS @ 1.25 ml per kg of seed.
Destroy infected plants.
Spray 125 grams of Thiamethoxam 25 WG per hectare in 500 liters of water on 20-30 days old crops.
Anthracnose Disease: This fungal disease causes black-brown circular spots on leaves and flowers.
Control Measures:
Seed Treatment: Carboxin + Thiram @ 2 grams per kg of seed.
Spray Thiofinate Methyl 70% WP @ 650 grams per hectare.
Bacterial Leaf Blight: This seed-borne disease causes dry, raised brown spots on leaves, and it infects the stems and pods.
Control Measures:
Use disease-free seeds.
Destroy crop residues.
Soak seeds in a 500 ppm Streptomycin solution for 30 minutes.
Spray 500 grams of Copper Oxychloride 50% WP + 15 grams of Streptomycin per hectare.
Cercospora Leaf Spot: This disease causes small brown-red spots on leaves, branches, and flowers, leading to leaf drop.
Control Measures:
Spray 650 grams of Thiofinate Methyl 70% WP or 500 ml of Propiconazole 25 EC per hectare.
Macrophomina Leaf Spot: On one-month-old crops, white-brown spots appear on the leaves, which wilt, and plants remain small.
Control Measures:
Seed Treatment: Trichoderma Viride + Pseudomonas Fluorescens @ 10 grams per kg of seed.
Spray 650 grams of Thiofinate Methyl 70% WP per hectare.
Leaf Blight and Root Rot Diseases: These diseases cause infection in seeds, roots, and leaves, leading to wilting and drying of the plants.
Control Measures:
Treat seeds.
Apply 2.5 kg of Trichoderma Viride and Pseudomonas Fluorescens per hectare mixed with 50 kg of cow dung.
Rust (Red) Disease: This disease causes red-brown spots on the leaves, pods, and stems, leading to leaf drop.
Control Measures:
Spray 750 grams of Pyroclostrobin per hectare.
Powdery Mildew Disease: This disease causes white powder-like spots on all parts of the crop.
Control Measures:
Spray 500 ml of Tridemorph per hectare.
