These days, farmers are leaving traditional farming behind and embracing new techniques. Many farmers are switching from old crops to tree cultivation, which has proven to be very profitable for them. In this regard, the Bihar Forest Department is providing plants to farmers for a security deposit of 10 rupees to increase their income. This deposit will be returned with six times the amount as a grant after three years.
To benefit from this scheme, farmers must ensure that these plants are alive at least 50% after three years. Farmers are required to purchase more than 25 plants from the Forest Department nursery for a deposit of 10 rupees. If these plants remain 50% alive in the next three years, farmers will receive a grant of 60 rupees per plant. Additionally, the security deposit will be refunded.
Inspections will be conducted periodically. Only farmers and residents of Bihar are eligible for this scheme. To apply, visit the local Agriculture or Forest Department office in your district. After verification, the plants will be provided to the farmers. Periodic inspections by Forest Department officials will take place. Once the three-year period is completed, the grant and security deposit will be returned to their accounts.
