The Farmer ID has been made mandatory for all beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. The process of generating Farmer IDs for eligible farmers is currently underway. However, for those who have yet to obtain their ID, special camps will be organized until March 20 to facilitate the process.
In a recent directive, Collector Smt. Pratibha Pal instructed Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and Tehsildars to organize camps in clusters of 3 to 5 gram panchayats to complete the remaining Farmer ID registrations. Additionally, Patwaris have been given a daily target of generating at least 10 Farmer IDs. The Farmer ID generation process will also be facilitated through digitally registered youth under the Digital Crop Survey and Common Service Centers (CSCs).
The Collector has instructed officials to schedule and plan the cluster-wise camps efficiently. A nodal officer will be appointed for each camp, while Gram Panchayat Secretaries, Patwaris, and field officers from the Agriculture Department will assist in the registration process. During the camps, each farmer’s land record (khasra number) will be linked with their Aadhaar number to ensure seamless access to future government benefits.
Farmers attending the camps will also be educated about the benefits of having a Farmer ID. Additionally, all SDMs have been directed to update the progress of Farmer ID generation daily on a Google Sheet. The authorities have also emphasized the promotion of these camps through social media and print media to maximize participation.
Incentives for Meeting Registration Targets: To ensure maximum participation, the government has allocated ₹15,000 per camp, which will be provided only if at least 50% of the farmers in the cluster register. Additional incentives include ₹5,000 for achieving 15% of the target, an additional ₹5,000 for reaching 30% of the target, Full ₹15,000 allocation for achieving 100% registration.
Unregistered Farmers May Lose PM-KISAN Benefits: The Collector has clearly stated that farmers without a valid Farmer ID may be ineligible for PM-KISAN benefits. Therefore, officials have been urged to prioritize this task and ensure that all eligible farmers complete their registration within the stipulated deadline.
