The Department of Farmer Welfare and Agricultural Development is working to make farming profitable by providing farmers with training on advanced agricultural techniques. Under the ATMA scheme, farmers are periodically trained for better production. Farmers are also sent out of the state for training, where they learn advanced methods of preparing vermicompost and marketing it.
Farmers are collecting cow dung and waste from their livestock to prepare vermicompost. With the training, farmers have achieved better yields in wheat and paddy. By adopting advanced vegetable farming techniques, they are also producing better-quality vegetables.
Vermicompost Production Boosts Farmers' Income:
With reduced farming costs and increased production, the economic condition of farming families has improved. Vermicompost production has also contributed to an increase in farmers' income.
The district has successfully purchased 42,514 metric tons of paddy at the minimum support price (MSP).
Payments Transferred to Farmers' Bank Accounts: Farmers have received the payments for their crops, transferred to their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. The transportation of the purchased paddy has also been completed. January 23, 2025, was the last date for purchasing at MSP.
Government Initiatives: The government's well-implemented schemes and timely procurement have provided farmers with better opportunities. By adopting training and new techniques, farmers are not only improving their farming practices but also uplifting their living standards.
