To enhance productivity and increase farmers' earnings from wheat cultivation, our agricultural scientists introduce several improved varieties of wheat seeds annually. One such variety developed by agricultural scientists is the DBW 327 improved wheat strain. Characteristics of this wheat variety (DBW 327 Improved Variety's Features) Farmers in Punjab, Haryana, and Gujarat states in India achieve higher yields from wheat cultivation. According to the ICAR, cultivating the DBW 327 wheat strain has significantly boosted yields for farmers in Punjab and Haryana. The fortunes of farmers who planted this improved wheat strain changed dramatically.
The ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research (IIWBR), Karnal, has developed this improved wheat strain known as Karan Shivani (DBW 327). When a farmer cultivates this improved wheat strain on one hectare of land, they can yield up to 87.8 quintals.
When a farmer cultivates this wheat variety Karan Shivani DBW 327 on one hectare of land, they can yield from a minimum of 79.5 to a maximum of 87.8 quintals. This year, farmers in Punjab and Haryana states have cultivated this improved wheat strain, resulting in a yield of up to 33.70 quintals per acre and up to 84 quintals per hectare.
Dr. Gyanendra Singh, Director of ICAR-IIWBR, Karnal, mentioned that more attention is being given to developing improved crop seeds and varieties to meet farmer needs. By successfully cultivating this Karan Shivani DBW 327 wheat variety, farmers can achieve good productivity, ensuring better profits for them and boosting wheat production in the country.
