The central and state governments are continuously introducing new schemes to enhance farmers' income and make agriculture a profitable venture. In this direction, Haryana’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Shyam Singh Rana, stated that the state government is making special efforts to promote natural farming and convert barren land into fertile land. Additionally, prawn farming is also being encouraged.

Better Support for Farmers:

The Agriculture Minister mentioned that efforts are being made to boost farmers' income through natural farming, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), agricultural mechanization, and agro-tourism. The government plans to offer better support prices for products grown through natural farming. Furthermore, farmers are being linked with FPOs to ensure fair pricing for their produce, modern agricultural equipment is being made available, and agro-tourism is being promoted.

₹30,000 Incentive for Purchasing Indigenous Cows:

To encourage farmers to adopt diversified farming, the Haryana government is providing a financial incentive of ₹25,000 for purchasing an indigenous cow, which will soon be increased to ₹30,000. Additionally, to train farmers in natural farming, four training centers have been set up in Kurukshetra (Gurukul), Karnal (Gharaunda), Sirsa (Jind), and Mangiana.

Up to 80% Subsidy on Agricultural Machinery:

To tackle the issue of crop residue burning, the Haryana government has decided to provide 50% to 80% subsidy on crop residue management machines. So far, 1,00,882 machines have been distributed.

Moreover, the government is providing ₹1,000 per acre for paddy residue management. Under the "Mera Pani Meri Virasat" scheme, farmers are being encouraged to cultivate alternative crops instead of paddy, with financial assistance of ₹7,000 per acre. Additionally, ₹4,000 per acre is being offered to promote direct seeding of paddy (DSR). To prevent stubble burning, Red Zone Panchayats are being given incentives of up to ₹1,00,000.

Making Agriculture a Profitable Venture: The Agriculture Minister emphasized that the Haryana government is consistently working to make farming a profitable profession and increase farmers' income. By promoting natural farming, modern agricultural techniques, FPOs, and agro-tourism, the state aims to empower farmers economically and strengthen their livelihoods.
