Farmers are being encouraged to enhance millet cultivation and production under the Rani Durgavati Millet Promotion Scheme. The state government is offering an additional ₹1,000 per quintal incentive over the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for specific millets like Kodo and Kutki. Additionally, farmers can avail a maximum of ₹3,900 per hectare as an incentive.
Farmers and groups engaged in millet cultivation have been organized under a state-level federation. To promote millet and its processed products on national and international platforms, the state has established the Millet Promotion Consortium of Farms Producer Company. Advanced technologies are being leveraged to achieve these goals.
Farmers in the state have been regularly benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). From 2019-20 to 2023-24, approximately 1.87 crore farmers have received ₹18,587 crore in claim payouts under this scheme.
