If this disease occurs in the turmeric crop, farmers suffer a loss of 50 to 60 percent of their produce. Thrips insect is one of the most rapidly spreading diseases. If it is not controlled in time, the crop can be completely destroyed. In view of the changing weather, controlling thrips pests in turmeric crop remains a challenge for the farmers growing turmeric crop.
Due to exposure to this disease, small red, black and white colored insects suck the juice of the leaves and bend the leaves into pipe shape. To prevent this, use 15 ml of dimethoate. Or make a solution of carbaryl in 1 ml per liter of water and spray it three times at an interval of 15 days.
Due to this disease in turmeric, the leaves turn yellow and start drying up and the stem above the ground rots and the rhizome inside the ground also rots and becomes like cow dung manure. It has been observed that this disease occurs more in waterlogged areas. To prevent this, make a mixture of 2.5 grams of Indofil M-45 and 1 gram of Webhistein per liter of water and apply the solution to the seeds.
