The leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a historic tri-party agreement between Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan will take place on December 17 in Jaipur, marking the launch of the transformative Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project. This initiative is a significant step toward realizing former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's vision of interlinking rivers.
The project will provide ample irrigation water and drinking water to farmers in 11 districts of the Malwa and Chambal regions of Madhya Pradesh—Guna, Shivpuri, Sehore, Dewas, Rajgarh, Ujjain, Agar-Malwa, Indore, Shajapur, Mandsaur, and Morena. This will not only bring prosperity to farming families but also lead to flourishing crops in the region.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hailed the project as a blessing for both states, bringing revolutionary changes to the lives of farmers. He highlighted Malwa's prominence in the production of medicinal crops and other agricultural products, which will now see a doubling of output. Currently, 5 million hectares in the state are irrigated, and the government is committed to increasing this to 10 million hectares. Projects like the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link and Ken-Betwa Link will play a pivotal role in achieving this target.
Transforming Farmers’ Lives: December 17 will be a historic day not just for Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan but for the entire country, as this agreement will open new avenues of development for farmers. The project promises to empower farmers, make them self-reliant, and accelerate the economic growth of the region and the nation.
