The Bihar government has announced a subsidy of up to ₹8 lakh to promote goat farming and increase the income of goat farmers. Many people are earning good profits by engaging in goat farming. To support this, the state government has launched the Goat Farming Scheme. If you're interested in starting goat farming, you can apply online for this subsidy.
To avail the benefits of the goat farming subsidy, farmers can apply to the state government under this scheme. Eligible beneficiaries will receive financial assistance for setting up goat or sheep farms. This scheme is open to interested farmers and young individuals who want to venture into goat farming. A total provision of ₹1,293.44 lakh has been made for this year under the scheme.
The Goat and Sheep Development Scheme, the department provides subsidies for setting up farms with 20 goats and 1 buck, 40 goats and 2 bucks, or 100 goats and 5 bucks. General category beneficiaries will receive a subsidy covering 50% of the total cost, while beneficiaries from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will receive 60% of the cost, along with training.
Interested farmers can apply for the Goat Farming Scheme online. Applicants must provide their Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank account details, and land-related documents. If the land is ancestral, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from all claimants must be provided. Goat farming is expected to create employment opportunities in rural areas and increase farmers' incomes.
