The Punjab government has issued special directives for farmers, allowing them to directly sow rice from May 15th to May 31st. According to the notification, farmers in regions including Sri Muktsar Sahib, Ferozepur, Mansa, Fazilka, Bathinda, and Firozpur, as well as areas adjacent to international borders with barbed wire fences, will receive canal water and eight hours of daily electricity supply for irrigation until crop harvesting begins on June 11th. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's government has granted permission for rice plantation in several parts of the state from June 11th onwards. In June, canal water will be available in many districts of the state.

Approval for Tube Wells from June 15th:

The Agriculture Department has announced that the Governor has approved the Direct Seeding of Rice (DSR) program from May 15th to May 31st. Farmers must carry out direct rice planting within 15 days. Permission will also be granted for the use of tube wells alongside canal water for irrigation starting June 15th.

Water Supply in These Districts: 

Starting June 15th, farmers will have access to canal water for irrigation. Additionally, permission will be granted for the use of tube wells in Mohali, Ropar, Ludhiana, Malerkotla, Patiala, Moga, Sangrur, Barnala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Kapurthala, Nawanshahr, Tarn Taran, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar, as well as in other remaining areas.
