The state government is consistently working towards the welfare of farmers through various initiatives. Under these schemes, farmers are being provided with seeds, fertilizers, and agricultural equipment at subsidized rates.
Through the Food and Nutritional Security Program, a total of 515,772 beneficiaries have been supported. Similarly, under the Madhya Pradesh State Millet Mission, 66,412 farmers have received benefits, aimed at promoting millet cultivation and increasing productivity.
With assistance from the central government, the ATMA (Sub-Mission on Agriculture Extension) program is strengthening agricultural extension services. Farmers are being trained and provided with the latest technical know-how through workshops, exposure visits, agricultural fairs, and symposiums. In 2023-24, approximately 235,767 farmers benefited from this initiative. Additionally, farmers are being recognized and awarded at block, district, and state levels under this scheme.
The Seed Village Program, 292,750 farmers have received 80,275 quintals of seeds. To promote better soil health management, free Soil Health Cards are being distributed to farmers. These cards guide farmers on the recommended quantity of fertilizers and nutrients for optimal productivity. Over the past two years, 973,250 farmers have been issued Soil Health Cards.
Up to 55% Subsidy on Sprinkler and Drip Irrigation Systems: The Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana is offering subsidies of up to 55% to small and marginal farmers, and 45% to other farmers, on sprinkler, drip, and raingun irrigation systems. During
2024-25, a total of 17,496 farmers benefited from this scheme:
Furthermore, subsidies of 75% (up to ₹15,000) are being provided to farmers for borewell drilling and pump installations. In 2024-25, 212 farmers availed these benefits.
Promotion of Organic Farming: To encourage organic farming, 2,169 groups covering a target area of 43,380 hectares have been approved for 2024-25. Additionally, the Madhya Pradesh Natural Farming Board has been established to promote and assist farmers in adopting natural farming practices.
