Are you interested in mango farming? Would you like to receive government assistance? If yes, the Chief Minister's Horticulture Mission presents a golden opportunity for you under the Mango Development Scheme (2024–25). Let's delve into the important points and benefits of this scheme.
The objective of this scheme is to promote mango cultivation across all districts of the state of Bihar. It encourages farmers to engage in mango farming, thereby improving their livelihoods and boosting the local economy.
Both small and large farmers can benefit from this scheme, receiving subsidies for cultivating a minimum of 0.25 acres (0.1 hectares) and up to 10 acres (4 hectares). This scheme offers a significant opportunity for farmers, whether small-scale or large-scale, to enhance their agricultural practices.
Supply of Plantation Material: High-quality plantation materials will be supplied for expanding mango cultivation areas. This material will be sourced from Centers of Excellence, Desari, Vaishali, and district horticulture nurseries, ensuring farmers receive the best plantation materials to improve crop quality.
Grant Amount under the Mango Development Scheme: Under this scheme, farmers will receive ₹18,000 per hectare in the first year and ₹6,000 per year for the second and third years. This grant will provide initial financial support to farmers, which is especially crucial during the early stages of farming when expenses are high.
Benefits for Beneficiary Farmers: Only eligible tenant farmers can avail benefits based on land documents. This ensures that only qualified farmers benefit from the scheme, enhancing transparency and ensuring that the right beneficiaries receive support.
Selection of Beneficiaries: Beneficiaries will be selected with 78.56% from the general category, 20% from Scheduled Castes, and 1.44% from Scheduled Tribes. Each category will have 30% participation from women, ensuring equal opportunities for all sections of society.
