Good news for soybean farmers, Increase in MSP announced by the government

The Cabinet has approved the procurement of soybeans from registered farmers under the Central Government's Price Support Scheme for the Kharif season 2024-25. The procurement will be carried out by the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation, the state procurement agency. 

Approval for Soybean Purchase at MSP:

Farmers can register between September 25 and October 20, and the procurement will take place from October 25 to December 31. Around 1,400 centers will be established for soybean purchase, with provisions for modifications if required. Approximately 13.68 lakh metric tons of soybeans will be procured from farmers at the MSP rate of ₹4892 per quintal. If the procurement exceeds the specified limit, the state government will step in to purchase the additional quantity.

Approval of ₹919.94 Crore for Simhastha-2028 Preparations:

The Cabinet, chaired by MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, has granted approval for the Kanha Diversion Closed Duct Project, with an estimated cost of ₹919.94 crore, in preparation for Simhastha-2028. The project had already received ₹598.66 crore in approval. An agreement was signed with Messrs. Vensor Ujjain Project for ₹479.89 crore on March 15, 2024. The project is expected to be completed by September 2027.

Approval of ₹159.13 Crore for Construction of Legislators’ Rest House:

The Cabinet has also granted administrative approval for ₹159.13 crore for the construction of a new Legislators' Rest House. The current rest house was built in 1958. The new facility will replace the old family and shopping centers, featuring 102 housing units spread across five blocks.

Major Investment Expected in Solar and Wind Energy Sectors: Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla stated that the Chief Minister recently praised the state’s renewable energy efforts in a meeting. Special attention will be given to renewable energy over the next two years. Major investments are expected in the solar and wind energy sectors, positioning the state as a leader in green energy. The Chief Minister emphasized the state’s immense investment potential in sectors such as energy, agriculture, and IT.
