The Commissioner directed the officials from the Agricultural Engineering and Farmer Welfare Department to increase awareness about the Super Seeder in villages. This initiative aims to reduce stubble burning incidents. He further emphasized that farmers should be informed about the substantial subsidies offered by the government for purchasing Super Seeders.
During his visit, Commissioner Shri Khatri spoke with a farmer from Milawali village, who shared their success story of using the Super Seeder for both stubble management and wheat sowing. The farmer explained that burning stubble after paddy harvest delays the sowing of wheat, leading to adverse effects on production due to higher temperatures during the harvest season. Additionally, burning stubble diminishes soil fertility and damages the environment.
Other farmers from Milawali village highlighted that the Super Seeder incorporates stubble into the soil, enriching it with green manure for wheat crops. Moreover, sowing without burning stubble not only saves time but also reduces costs. These farmers noted that for the past three years, they have been successfully using the Super Seeder after paddy harvest, and the benefits have motivated them to adopt the practice.
