Proper irrigation is crucial for farmers to achieve good and improved crop yields. Farmers often rely on rainwater for irrigation, which directly impacts crop production. Therefore, the need for tubewells becomes essential. However, many farmers still lack tubewell facilities in their fields, making irrigation challenging. To address this issue, the Haryana government has introduced a scheme allowing farmers to apply for increased electricity load connections for their tubewells.
The Haryana Tubewell Connection Scheme, launched by the Haryana government, aims to assist farmers. Under this scheme, tubewell connections will be provided to farmers in the state. Farmers can apply for increased load for their agricultural tubewell electricity connections from July 1 to July 15.
In a recent cabinet meeting, the condition of using solar energy for the second tubewell installation, after the failure of the first one, was removed. If a farmer installs a second tubewell, they will be allowed to use the existing electricity connection. Previously, the second tubewell connection had to be powered by solar energy.
