While monsoon rains continue across most parts of the country, several states are still awaiting its arrival. Northern plains, in particular, are experiencing extreme heat and heatwave conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a heatwave is expected to prevail in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar weather from June 17 to 19. During this period, these states will experience scorching temperatures.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Delhi due to the ongoing heatwave. The city is currently enduring severe heat, with maximum temperatures expected to reach around 45 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures around 33 degrees Celsius today. The IMD has extended the severe heat alert in Delhi until June 19. However, weather conditions are likely to change from June 20, with possibilities of light rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds. Throughout this week, Delhi’s maximum temperatures are forecasted to range between 42 to 45 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are expected to hover between 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.
Weather today in Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, the heatwave is expected to continue from June 17 to June 19. Following this, a change in weather is anticipated from June 20, with possibilities of strong winds and rain in Lucknow and surrounding areas. This week, the maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to be between 40 to 45 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will likely range from 30 to 32 degrees Celsius.
