According to the weather forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), moderate to heavy rainfall is expected over the next 24 hours in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Telangana and Goa are likely to experience light to moderate showers, with isolated heavy rainfall in some areas.
In addition, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, South Gujarat, and South-Central Madhya Pradesh. Northeast India, Sikkim, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Southeastern Rajasthan, Lakshadweep, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are also likely to receive light rain. Over the next two days, several districts in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Southern Gujarat may witness heavy downpours. Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka are also expected to experience heavy rainfall during this period.
In the national capital Delhi, partly cloudy skies are expected today. However, the day will begin with bright sunshine, and the maximum temperature is predicted to reach around 35°C. The minimum temperature is likely to be recorded at 17°C. The Air Quality Index (AQI) in New Delhi today stands at 169, which falls in the 'poor' category.
The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Bengaluru today. It is expected that Bengaluru and surrounding areas will witness intense showers. The maximum temperature in Bengaluru will be around 25°C, while the minimum temperature will hover around 21°C. The ongoing India vs. New Zealand first test match in the city may face disruptions due to rain.
