The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has provided a weather forecast for November 8, predicting primarily clear skies across Delhi and the NCR region. Light variable winds below 4 km/h are expected in the morning, possibly accompanied by smog, shallow fog, or mist in some areas. By the afternoon, wind speeds may slightly increase to around 8 km/h before slowing down to less than 4 km/h by evening and night, with fog or mist likely to return in the evening hours.
The past 24 hours, IMD reported a slight drop in Delhi/NCR’s maximum temperatures, which ranged between 30-32°C, while minimum temperatures stayed between 15-19°C. Maximum temperatures were slightly above normal by 1-2°C, and minimums were 4-5°C above average. Daytime brought light winds and smog, while calm conditions prevailed at night.
IMD has warned of heavy rainfall in parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala, where thunderstorms and lightning are also likely. Coastal areas of South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu may experience squally weather, with winds reaching speeds of 35-45 km/h, gusting up to 55 km/h. Fishermen are advised to avoid these coastal regions due to potential rough conditions.
Agricultural Advisory for Heavy Rainfall Regions: The IMD has issued advisories for regions expecting heavy rainfall, such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Farmers in these areas are advised to drain excess water from standing crops and ensure harvested produce is stored safely. To protect horticultural crops, farmers should provide structural support, and vegetable crops should be staked to prevent damage due to adverse weather.
