The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its forecast and warnings for the upcoming week, predicting rainfall in several regions of the country. Here's a breakdown of the weather forecast for the next seven days:
The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya throughout the week. Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to experience light showers for the next two days, followed by heavy rainfall over the subsequent five days. Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar weather, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands will also see intermittent light to moderate rain, while Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha are likely to experience scattered showers.
Additionally, from October 2nd to 4th, isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Arunachal Pradesh may also experience heavy rains from October 1st to 5th.
Southern India, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, and Lakshadweep are expected to have light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Interior Karnataka and Coastal Andhra Pradesh, including Yanam, may also witness light to moderate showers. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Rayalaseema, and Telangana will see scattered rainfall.
Moreover, heavy rainfall is likely on September 30th over South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, with Kerala and Mahe predicted to receive heavy rains between September 30th and October 1st.
According to the IMD, Central India will experience scattered light to moderate rainfall throughout the week. Konkan and Goa will receive heavy rainfall over the next two days, followed by scattered showers. However, dry weather is expected to prevail over Saurashtra and Kutch starting from October 2nd.
Weather Forecast for Northwest India: Northwest India, Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, and East Rajasthan are likely to experience intermittent light to moderate rainfall during the week. Similar weather conditions will prevail in other parts of the region for the next two days, followed by dry weather for the subsequent five days.
