Rain Forecast for Delhi-NCR

Residents of Delhi-NCR can expect some relief from the rising temperatures as a change in weather is on the horizon. While the chill of the evenings and nights continues, daytime conditions are also set to shift. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), rainfall is expected in February and March.

Rain Forecast for Delhi-NCR:

Light to moderate rainfall is predicted across Delhi-NCR, including Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram, on February 27 and 28. Additionally, thunderstorms and rain are expected on March 1. Wind speeds are likely to range between 20 to 30 kilometers per hour in the morning and evening, accompanied by cloudy skies, which will contribute to a drop in temperature.

Temperature Likely to Decline:

Continuous rainfall over three days will lead to a decrease in temperature. As per IMD, this weather change is due to an active western disturbance. Rain is expected on February 27, 28, and March 1, bringing the maximum temperature down to around 25-26°C. Currently, Delhi-NCR's maximum temperature stands at 28°C, while the minimum is recorded at 12°C. Post March 1, the skies are expected to clear up.

Weather Change in Uttar Pradesh:

Along with Delhi, Uttar Pradesh will also witness a shift in weather patterns. Currently, temperatures fluctuate between warm and cold due to occasional chilly winds and strong sunlight. While winter is gradually fading, the IMD has issued an alert predicting a fresh spell of rain starting February 27 due to western disturbances. This weather pattern may continue into the first week of March.

Districts Expected to Receive Rainfall: According to the IMD, parts of western Uttar Pradesh may experience thunderstorms and rain on February 27. By February 28, both western and eastern regions of the state are expected to receive rainfall.

Districts likely to witness rain:

  1. Western Uttar Pradesh weather: Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Baghpat, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Hapur, and Moradabad.
  2. Eastern Uttar Pradesh: Sitapur, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Farrukhabad, Bareilly, Badaun, Rampur, Kasganj, Etah, Hathras, Aligarh, Mathura, and Sambhal.

How Long Will This Weather Last? The IMD forecasts dry weather conditions until February 26, with clear skies during the day and slight fog in the morning and evening. However, from February 27 onwards, rain will begin, and conditions are expected to clear up only after March 1. Residents of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh should prepare for changing weather in the coming days.
