Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has reiterated the state government's firm commitment towards cow conservation and promotion. Taking a significant step in this direction, the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Kamdhenu Gaushala was laid in Mhow, equipped with modern facilities.

Addressing the bhoomi-pujan (groundbreaking) ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized that gaushalas (cow shelters) are not just centers for cow service but also avenues for enhancing milk production, thereby boosting the income of farmers and dairy producers. He added that these gaushalas will play a crucial role in bringing about a new dairy revolution in the state.

Facility to House 10,000 Cows:

The hi-tech Kamdhenu Gaushala is being developed on approximately 25 hectares of land in Aashapura village, located on the Mhow-Mandleshwar road. The facility will have the capacity to accommodate 10,000 cows. The project is being executed by the Indore Municipal Corporation, which will also oversee its maintenance. Participation from saints and social workers will be ensured in its management and operations.

Towards Self-Reliant Gaushalas:

Highlighting the cultural and traditional importance of cow service, Dr. Yadav said the government has introduced the "Self-Reliant Gaushala Policy 2025", under which large-capacity gaushalas will be established in urban areas across the state. He also announced a new scheme named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, aimed at providing grants to cow rearers.

Modern Facilities at Kamdhenu Gaushala:

The upcoming gaushala will feature modern sheds, fodder storage units (bhusagar and danaghar), special treatment sheds for sick cows, land for green fodder cultivation, a cow worship center, adequate water supply, and dense plantation to ensure a healthy and sustainable environment.

Cow Protection Turning into a Public Movement: Speaking on the occasion, Swami Achyutanand Maharaj said that this gaushala will serve as a model for the entire country, setting an example in cow protection and care. He noted that cow conservation is no longer just a government initiative but has evolved into a public movement. The Chief Minister initiated the program with cow worship, lovingly blessing a calf and encouraging society to actively participate in cow service.
