The Women and Child Development Department has launched the 'Hub for Empowerment of Women' under the Mission Shakti initiative. The primary objective of this initiative is to connect women with institutional mechanisms that facilitate their empowerment and development. Through this scheme, women will receive assistance in availing benefits from government programs, while working women will be provided with essential safety measures. Additionally, women will be connected to resources for health, education, career, and vocational counseling and training. Financial inclusion and entrepreneurship opportunities are also being promoted as part of this program.

Establishment of Hubs in 52 Districts:

The 'Hub for Empowerment of Women' has been established at the state level under Mission Shakti, with key positions created including a State Mission Coordinator, two Gender Specialists, two Research & Training Specialists, an Accounts Assistant, an Office Assistant, and a Multi-Tasking Staff. District-level Hubs have also been set up in all 52 districts of the state, with a total of eight sanctioned posts in each district. Under Mission Shakti, efforts are underway to train district officials and Health Education Workers (HEWs) while coordinating with various departments implementing women-centric schemes. Awareness camps and enrollment drives are being organized at both state and district levels.

Raising Awareness for the 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' Scheme:

The district-level Hubs for Empowerment of Women will serve as a single-window solution for addressing issues affecting women. Additionally, best practices in sectors such as health, education, microfinance, and livelihoods will be identified, documented, and disseminated. The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) will prioritize raising awareness about the 'Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao' scheme. Integrated camps will be conducted to ensure access to various women-focused initiatives implemented by different departments.

Ongoing Special 100-Day Awareness Campaign:

Currently, a special 100-day awareness campaign titled "Sankalp" is being conducted at the district and village levels, set to run until October 4, 2024. So far, approximately 118,594 events have been organized across 52 districts as part of this campaign, with enthusiastic participation from diverse age groups. The campaign has successfully engaged 697,955 youths aged 7 to 18 years, 758,000 adults aged 18 to 55 years, and 251,041 senior citizens aged 55 and above.

To date, over 250,000 government officials and employees, more than 10,000 public representatives, and approximately 52,000 representatives from Panchayati Raj institutions and local bodies have actively participated in this initiative. The main goal of this 100-day special awareness campaign is to elevate awareness among the citizens of the state regarding various issues and to foster community participation.
