Delhi has been reeling under intense heat and humidity, with no signs of rain for the past week. The rising temperatures have made life difficult for the residents, and relief seems distant. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no likelihood of rain in Delhi for the next three to four days. However, the weather is expected to change from October 5, bringing a chance of cloud cover and rain, which could finally provide some relief from the sweltering heat. Today, Delhi's maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 35°C and 26°C, respectively.
Contrast, heavy rainfall has caused widespread devastation in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Several areas are grappling with severe flooding, disrupting normal life. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), conditions may improve today, but another spell of heavy rainfall is predicted to begin from October 4. Meanwhile, light rain is expected to continue in some areas of Uttar Pradesh throughout the week.
The weather forecast also indicates heavy rainfall in Odisha, southern Chhattisgarh, Telangana, coastal Karnataka, and Kerala in the coming days. These states are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall, with a few places receiving heavy showers. Additionally, states like Gujarat, southwestern Madhya Pradesh, northeastern India, Sikkim, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are also expected to receive light to moderate rainfall.
