IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Khargone

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue across various parts of the country, and the monsoon is set to become active again in Madhya Pradesh. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is likely to begin in Madhya Pradesh from August 25. Here's the weather forecast:

Heavy Rain Expected in MP Starting August 25:

The IMD predicts that districts in the Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain weather, Sagar, Gwalior, Chambal, Rewa, and Shahdol divisions of Madhya Pradesh will experience continuous rainfall in some areas. Additionally, the formation of a low-pressure system over Bangladesh, expected to advance in the next day or two, and a cyclone developing in the Bay of Bengal on August 24, are likely to trigger torrential rains in the state from August 25 onwards.

Rainfall Recorded Across MP:

As per the IMD, on Wednesday, August 22, between 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM, Tikamgarh recorded 60 mm of rainfall, Dhar received 46 mm, Nowgong 18 mm, Umaria 17 mm, Pachmarhi 16 mm, Indore 11 mm, Shivpuri and Damoh 6 mm each, Ratlam and Mandla 4 mm each, and Narsinghpur recorded 2 mm of rainfall.

Narmada Region on Alert as Water Levels Rise:

Due to continuous heavy rainfall, an alert has been issued in Khargone, Khandwa, and other districts in the Narmada region. The heavy downpour on the night of August 20 led to a significant rise in the Narmada's water level. As a result, over 50 villages in the Khargone district have been put on alert. Control rooms have been set up in several villages near the Narmada, with personnel monitoring the situation closely. The water level in the Narmada at Maheshwar is currently at 143 meters, just four meters below the danger mark. Khargone district has recorded 24 mm of rainfall, bringing the total rainfall in the district to 584 mm so far.
