The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning across 10 states until October 16, with several regions expected to experience intense showers. Although the Southwest monsoon is expected to retreat from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, and Jharkhand within the next two days, heavy rainfall is set to persist in several regions across the country, particularly in South India.
In Western India, heavy rainfall is forecast for today (October 13) in regions like Konkan, Goa, and Gujarat, including Saurashtra and Kutch. According to the IMD, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will witness heavy rains until October 15, while Kerala is set to receive showers over the next six days. Andhra Pradesh is expected to receive heavy rainfall from October 14 to 16, while Karnataka will experience rain through October 14. Additionally, Tamil Nadu and Kerala could face very heavy downpours on October 13 and 14.
In the capital, Delhi, the skies are expected to remain clear today, although some cloud cover may be seen later. Clear weather is predicted until October 16, with maximum temperatures around 34°C and minimums near 17°C. The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi stands at 178, classified as 'poor.'
Mumbai is likely to experience light to moderate rain and thunderstorms this evening and tonight. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 34°C and 26°C, respectively. The AQI for Mumbai is 76, in the 'moderate' range.
