In the coming days, diverse weather patterns are set to unfold across various regions of India, with a special focus on both the northern and southern parts of the country. According to the latest meteorological forecasts, a feeble Western Disturbance is anticipated to bring light isolated rainfall and snowfall to areas including Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on the 30th and 31st of December 2023.
Simultaneously, lower-level easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are expected to result in light isolated rainfall over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh from the 1st to the 3rd of January 2024.

Turning our attention to the southern regions, a fresh easterly wave and Low-Pressure Area over the West Equatorial Indian Ocean & adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea will likely bring light to moderate rainfall to south Tamil Nadu, south Kerala, and Lakshadweep from December 30th, 2023, to January 3rd, 2024. Isolated heavy rainfall is also anticipated over south Tamil Nadu on the 30th of December.
Additionally, a warning has been issued for fishermen in specific areas, including the Comorin area, Gulf of Mannar, Maldives area, Southeast Arabian Sea, and adjoining parts of Lakshadweep and Maldives. Dense fog conditions are expected in various northern regions, impacting visibility from late December to early January.
