IMD Has issued a Warning of Dense Fog And Bitter Cold in Northern India

As winter tightens its grip on Northern India, a weather alert has been issued for dense fog and chilling temperatures. The meteorological department predicts significant weather changes from the 13th to the 17th of January 2024. Here's a comprehensive breakdown of what to expect in the coming days:

Dense Fog Advisory:

From Punjab and Haryana to Chandigarh & Delhi, dense to very dense fog conditions are expected during the night and morning hours from the 13th to the 16th, with isolated pockets experiencing dense fog on the 17th of January. Similar conditions are anticipated in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and various other regions during specified dates.

Cold Day to Severe Cold Day Conditions:

Many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi are likely to experience Cold Day to Severe Cold Day conditions from the 13th to the 15th, extending to isolated pockets on the 16th. Uttar Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh are also under the grip, with Cold Day conditions in isolated pockets on the 15th. Isolated pockets in Bihar will witness Cold Day conditions on the 13th and 14th of January.

Minimum Temperature Forecast: Over the next two days, Northwest India expects minimal change in minimum temperatures, followed by a subsequent rise of 2-3°C. Conversely, many parts of Central India are anticipated to witness a fall of 2-3°C in minimum temperatures over the next 48 hours, with no significant changes in the following days.

Cold Wave Warning: Severe Cold wave conditions are expected to persist in some regions of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and others from the 13th to the 16th of January. Ground frost conditions are also likely in specific areas, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi, East Rajasthan and West Rajasthan.
