The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning today, for the upcoming five days, alerting residents and authorities to prepare for thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds, and squally conditions in various regions.
Thunderstorm activity is expected to intensify across East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious as thunderstorms may be accompanied by lightning, gusty winds with speeds ranging from 30-40 kmph, and hailstorms at isolated places. Additionally, squally wind conditions, reaching speeds of 40-45 kmph and gusting up to 55 kmph, are likely over the Comorin area and adjoining Gulf of Mannar. Fishermen are urged to refrain from venturing into these areas for safety reasons.
The IMD predicts thunderstorm activity over Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha, with similar weather conditions as on Day 1. Additionally, lightning and gusty winds are expected at isolated places in Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh.
East Madhya Pradesh may experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds, and hailstorms at isolated places on Day 3.

01 March Weather Update 2024: Thunderstorm activity with lightning is expected to occur at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh.
Residents in the mentioned areas are urged to stay indoors during thunderstorms, avoid open fields, and take necessary precautions to prevent any mishaps. Authorities are also advised to remain vigilant and take appropriate measures to ensure public safety.
