In Uttar Pradesh, a grand "Agriculture Kumbh"

In Uttar Pradesh, a grand "Agriculture Kumbh" is scheduled to take place in the month of November. The theme of this agriculture fair, organized by the state government, will be "Lab to Land." The inauguration of this proposed agriculture fair, which will be held in Lucknow, may be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. The venue for the event will be the Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research located in Lucknow. The Agriculture Kumbh will provide an excellent opportunity for companies involved in agriculture and farming to interact with farmers and showcase their agricultural tools and equipment. Previously, the first Agriculture Kumbh was organized in the state from October 25 to 28, 2018.

What will be special about the Agriculture Kumbh:

All departments related to agriculture and farming will set up stalls showcasing their schemes and initiatives aimed at improving agriculture. This includes departments related to animal husbandry, sugarcane, silk, fisheries, horticulture, and the Uttar Pradesh Land Improvement Corporation. The Agriculture Kumbh will feature exhibitions and demonstrations on fruit and flower cultivation, crop diversification, organic farming, vertical gardens, medicinal plant cultivation, groundwater conservation, and hydroponics.

Information will be provided about advanced methods of animal husbandry, including poultry farming, turkey farming, quail farming, goat rearing, fish and duck farming, cultivation of water chestnut and foxnut, silk production, reclamation of wasteland, agroforestry, and more. Workshops will be held on important topics. In addition to the main auditorium, the venue will have three separate auditoriums for these workshops. The selection of topics and panels of experts will be done by the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Research Council.

Proposed topics for discussion will include cow-based natural farming, the utility of coarse grains, the role of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in the agricultural sector, digital farming, start-ups in agriculture, benefits of agricultural mechanization, and post-harvest management.
