There has been a rise in the prices of peas since last week. Uttar Pradesh is the largest pea producing state, whose main pea market is Jalaun, which alone produces 90% of this state. Last year, farmers had got good price of peas, due to which farmers have planted more peas this year.
The price of peas is normal in Uttar Pradesh, due to which farmers must sell peas at cheaper prices. But the price of peas is still very expensive in the markets of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. Due to this, farmers are finding it difficult to sell peas at cheap prices. In Jalaun Mandi of Uttar Pradesh, the minimum price is Rs 2400 per quintal, while the maximum price is up to Rs 2600 per quintal. In Mumbai and Pune mandi of Maharashtra, the minimum price is Rs 3000 per quintal and the maximum price is Rs 4000 per quintal. In Panna Mandi of Madhya Pradesh, the minimum price is Rs 3600 per quintal and the maximum price is Rs 3650 per quintal, while in Indore Mandi the minimum price is Rs 3200 per quintal and the maximum price is Rs 3600 per quintal.
Gujarat Porbandar mandi, the minimum price is Rs 7500 per quintal and the maximum price is Rs 8000 per quintal, while in Dahod mandi the minimum price is Rs 3100 per quintal and the maximum price is Rs 3600 per quintal.
