In the wake of the devastation caused by Cyclone Dana, the Indian Navy has launched extensive relief operations to support affected villages in Odisha. These efforts primarily focus on addressing the immediate needs of cyclone-hit areas, including Kanhapur, Bagapatia, Barahipur, Magarkanda, Charigheria, and Satabhaya.
Relief camps have been set up at Batipada and Talchua, where essential assistance is being provided to those impacted by the cyclone. Recognizing the urgent need for food supplies, over 9,000 meal packets have been distributed to affected families.
Alongside food relief, NOIC (Odisha) has collaborated with state agencies to establish a medical camp, delivering critical healthcare services to approximately 400 individuals, ensuring health needs are met during this challenging time. Acknowledging the difficulty in reaching remote areas, two mobile relief teams have been deployed to deliver meals and medical aid directly to the communities in need. Efforts to aid these communities in rebuilding their lives post-Cyclone Dana is ongoing to help them return to normalcy.
