Madhya Pradesh has made significant strides in the fields of Information Technology (IT), IT-enabled Services (ITES), and Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) in recent years. The state has successfully attracted substantial investments in these sectors and has efficiently translated investment commitments into ground-level implementation. Under the leadership of the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC), operating under the Department of Science and Technology, an active investment promotion team has been instrumental in this transformation. This has not only strengthened the state’s technological infrastructure but has also generated numerous employment opportunities.
Indore and Bhopal, the two major technology centers of the state, have become prime destinations for investors in the IT and ESDM sectors. Renowned companies such as LTI Mindtree, Panchshil Realty, and Cognizant have made confident investments in IT and infrastructure development in Indore. Meanwhile, Bhopal has attracted interest in electronics manufacturing, Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), and the establishment of data centers.
LTI Mindtree has invested ₹870 crore in Indore, creating over 10,000 jobs. Similarly, Panchshil Realty has invested ₹1,000 crore, leading to the creation of 15,000 employment opportunities. Cognizant and Hexaware Technologies have also strengthened the KPO and BPO sectors in the city with investments of ₹80 crore and ₹50 crore respectively.
To promote innovation, an advanced incubation center named “Drishti CPS Foundation” is being established at IIT Indore. The state is actively fostering a favorable environment to boost the startup ecosystem and promote technological innovation.
Bhopal has witnessed a notable surge in investment in the electronics manufacturing and data center sectors. Keyns Technologies has invested ₹352 crore, generating over 2,000 jobs. Leading data center company CtrlS has invested ₹500 crore, significantly enhancing the state's digital infrastructure. Additionally, Zebia, an IT/ITES firm, has made investments in Bhopal, providing new employment opportunities for local youth.
Government Initiatives Accelerate Investment Implementation:
The joint efforts of the Department of Science and Technology and MPSEDC have played a critical role in turning these investment proposals into reality. Active policy implementation, infrastructure development, and industry engagement have transformed Madhya Pradesh from a promising state into a thriving investment destination. With progressive policies, a growing pool of skilled human resources, and a strong commitment to digital transformation, Madhya Pradesh is paving the way for a new era of development in the IT, ITES, and ESDM sectors.
