The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a detailed weather alert covering several areas across the country for the next few days, starting from the night of March 5th, 2024. A new weather system is expected to affect the Western Himalayan Region, bringing scattered to widespread light to medium rainfall and snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and some areas of Uttarakhand from March 5th to March 7th. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation located over northeast Assam, along with the movement of the current weather system towards the east, is likely to result in scattered to widespread light to medium rainfall and snowfall over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and parts of Chhattisgarh in the next 2-3 days.
