Karnataka government is planning to link RTC with Aadhaar :
On Monday, Karnataka's Revenue Minister, Krishna Byre Gowda, stated that the Karnataka government is formulating a plan to connect all records related to tenancy, leasing, and crops (under the Agricultural Produce Market Committee - APMC) with Aadhaar for the identification of small and marginal farmers as a "permanent solution" for the distribution of relief measures.

This step is anticipated to have other impacts, such as putting a check on fraudulent activities related to land and ensuring certainty in cases of ownership disputes. Responding to a debate on drought in the legislative assembly, Gowda mentioned that according to the statistics from the central government, 44% of farmers in Karnataka are small and marginal (owning less than two hectares of land).

Gowda emphasized, "In reality, 70% of the state's farmers are small and marginal." He urged the calculation of drought compensation for small and marginal farmers based on Aadhaar-linked data provided by the central government.
